Abstract
A cousin of Francis Scott Key, Henry G. S. Key was a wealthy landowner and political leader in St. Mary's County, Md. during the 19th century. His papers include business, financial, and land records as well as his correspondence. Some of his letters contain the names and ages of the slaves he owned. Also of note in this collection are documents related to the Maryland-Pennsylvania-Delaware boundary commission and a copy of a Francis Scott Key poem entitled "Safe at sea again" written in an...
