Scope and Contents
The collection contains documents related to the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad. The earlier documents primarily discuss the creation of the Northwestern Virginia Railroad. The letters from the 1850’s discuss purchasing bonds and securing loans to buy a controlling stake in the railroad. The documents from the 1920’s and 30’s relate to the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Company’s financial status, including financial statements, letters to stockholders, and addresses given by Daniel Willard and John Cornwell.
