According to the envelope J. Frisby Hollyday died June 1849. There is a newspaper article attached to the inside of the Daguerreotype case. According to the article, Hollyday's death was sudden and surprising; he died before he was eighteen years old. Also according to the newspaper article he was a successful businessman and a man of amicable, benevolent character and of outstanding morals. The article speaks of him affectionately and ends with "He descends to the grave indeed lamented."
