Autographs and annotations of Madame Bonaparte in both volumes; Accession #2009-014-LIB; From information sheet provided with volumes by donor: "On the cover of these books she has written 'Madame Bonaparte nee Patterson' and inside 'Bought at Paris March 1840.' Both books are underlined and annotated by her. Dates indicate that she read and reread them before presenting them to her grandson, Charles Joseph Bonaparte, 1851-1921, later Attorney-General in Theodore Roosevelt's Cabinet."
