This sketch shows the occupation of the 20th pennsylvanian troops in the post office in Baltimore located on the corner of Gay and Lombard streets. They were to protect this post office in case of a riot. This order was given by Major Gen Banks. The Post Office was then located in the old Exchange Building on the site of the present Custom House.
