Abstract
Simon Sobeloff was the first Jew on the Maryland Court of Appeals, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, 1958-64, and Solicitor General of the United States, 1954. Judge Sobeloff was a leader in Jewish organizations on the local and national level, and also in many legal associations. In this oral history interview, he discusses the changes in criminal justice, desegregation, school busing, and housing discrimination, among other topics.
