Civil War diary of a member of the Black Eagle Rifles, 18th Virginia Volunteers, C. S. A., 1861-1862. Summary: Writer enlisted December 21, 1859, saw action in Manassas, Yorktown, Williamsburg, Rappahannock River, Second Battle of Manassas, and was taken prisoner and wounded at South Mountain, September 14, 1862.
