General
This a diary presumably written by Adelman. He lived in Baltimore, as there are many referneces to parks, streets, and businesses which are found in Baltimore. He either owned or worked in a clothier or tailor shop. An entry is made each day concerning his normal life, girl friends, amusements, etc. As he is a Southern Sympathizer, he enlisted in the Confederate Army in the Second Virginia Cavalry and gives a good account of conditions prevailing among the enlisted men. Also included is a map-recent-showing the area in which he lived, and several photoprints of the diary itself.
