Summary: Journal recounts Grove's stay at Patterson Post Hospital in Baltimore after a wound at the Battle of Wilderness (May 5-11, 1864) as well as his daily activites as a soldier through October 28, 1864. Included with the journal are an introduction to the journal, a transcription, and four pages of genealogical information on Grove and some of his descendants, which were photocopied from the book "Family Lines: Book 2 The Lineages of Margaret Dunham back to the immigrant ancestors" by Marian Dunham Elkinton.
