Summary: Paper sent to Confederate Home at Pikesville; was at Monocacy and captured horse of Yankee Col. Tyler; "had Stonewall Jackson, Wade Hampton, or Mosby been with us there would have been no fight at Monocacy;" John W. Garrett told Lincoln he would send Wallace's Brigade to Frederick, hold early in check, he could rush troops into Washington.
