Biographical / Historical
The father of David P. Davis was David Davis Pagett. Pagett, a surgeon, had his name changed to David Davis by an Act of Legislature in 1822. The reason for this change is unknown but it may be related to his relationship with the Davis' with whom he is buried in Cecil County.
David P.Davis was the Judge of Orphan's Court, Cecil County. Nathaniel Cox was the Secretary of State under Governor Ligon.
