Biographical / Historical

Corporal Elbert K. Saxmann was born in Iowa on November 14th, 1919. He fought in the Second World War, and was in active service from January 29th 1942 to December 5th, 1945, discharged honorably. He fought first in the 97th Chemical Composite Company, and then the Alaskan Wing Air Transport Command starting in January 1944.

Scope and Contents

The collection contains one clamshell of documents and ephemera pertaining to Elbert K. Saxmann’s life and experiences before, during, and after World War Two.

The documents are organized in several series, each contained in a single folder. Within each folder, the documents are organized into an approximate chronological order.
