Addison family papers
Abstract
This collection consists of correspondence, wills, legal papers, deeds, land papers, land patents, and plats relating to the Addison family of colonial Maryland. Colonel John Addison came to Maryland from England in 1674, and began acquiring property in the area that would eventually become known as Oxon Hill, Prince George’s County. Of note are land grants to Robert Groseman signed by Charles Calvert and correspondence pertaining to Reverend Henry Addison (1717-1789), Henry Addison Callis, and Daniel Dulany (1727-97).
