General
Illustration of "Garrison" residence of Charles T. Cockey. Thomas Beal Cockey a veteran from the War of 1812 built a 16-room, brick home called Garrison in 1833 at 3511 Anton Farms Road, in Pikesville. Charles T. Cockey, an active farmer with a keen interest in Pikesville, renovated the house after the Civil War and added a north wing. The house, known as the Old Cockey Place in more modern times, remained in the Cockey family until 1950. The house was restored in 1976 by M. Gerald Sellman. The estate lands have been broken up and sold, but the home still stands.
