Physical Description
General
This illustration is of Congress Hall, known as "Henry Fite House" it was a meeting house for the Second Continental Congress from Dec. 20, 1776-February 22, 1777, moving from Philadelphia to Baltimore to avoid capture by the British forces. It was originally built as a tavern in 1770 by Henry Fite. 3 stories, brick building, windows, 3 doors located at Market Street. It was destroyedby fire on September 4, 1860.
