Sketch of The Old Light Street M. E. Church that was birthed from Lovely Lane Chapel to accommodate their growing congregation. Located on the NW corner of Light Street and Wine Alley, the church was dedicated on May 21, 1786 by Bishop Francis Asbury. The parsonage was adjoined to the church. New Light Street Church was built in 1796 on the SW corner of Light Street and Wine Alley.
