The illustration shows the Hall of the Maryland Institute located in Baltimore. In the bottom text it states that this was the largest and only hall in the country to serve for the advancement of the mechanic arts. The largest apartment is 265 feet by 60 and the building can contain 6,000 people. Illustration drawn by Manning. Article published while building still being completed.
