Scope and Contents
The collection contains ephemera related to professional, semi-professional, and amateur magicians collected by Arthur D. Gans. The items were removed from the John Edward Stewart Papers, 1910-1933, MS 2754, which mainly contains the correspondence of Gans and Stewart with fellow magicians. The majority of the materials in this collection are business cards and letterheads from magicians who Gans met and corresponded with. Programs for various performances across the country and internationally are included, often times with the business card of the performer. Many different magician societies that Gans and Stewart were involved with are represented in the collection.
