Scope and Contents
This collection consists of 88 photographs of the Rieman and McIntosh families from 1852-1926. While the subjects of the portraits are mostly direct members of the Rieman and McIntosh families, there are also photographs of certain cousins by the name of Lowe, Moritz, and Pegram. Many of the photographs have captions pasted onto the front of the picture, with additional handwriting on the back. These captions give the date of birth and death for the subject, as well as their relation to the Rieman and McIntosh families. Most of the photographs are wallet-sized, with only a few larger portraits and snapshots. Although clearly from the 19th century, many of the photographs are listed as “undated,” because a definitive decade was not proven. Where applicable, the name of the photographer or the studio has been listed.
