Biographical / Historical
Thomas Cable (c.1700-1743) was a merchant and clerk of court on the Eastern Shore of Virginia, who was involved with the tobacco trade and shipments of general cargo to the West Indies. In 1723 he married Sorrowful Margaret Custis (c.1692-1750), the widow of William Kendall (1687-1720). They resided on the Eyreville estate in Northhampton County, Virginia.
