The Honorable John E. Taylor (born 1850) was well known in public life in Wicomico County in the early 1900s, representing the county for many years in the State Legislature. Born in Riverton, Maryland, the son of John B. and Mary Taylor, John Taylor was educated in public schools and at Bryant and Strattons Business College in Baltimore. A Democrat, he was elected to the office of County Commissioner in 1891, and to the House of Delegates in 1897.
