Subject vertical file
Abstract
“Vertical File” is a term used to describe collections of photographs, clippings, etc., arranged by subject matter and housed in filing cabinets. Unlike the numbered photographs collections, items in the Vertical Files are not arranged in collections by source, or assigned catalog numbers.
