Arrangement
This collection contains the records from the Society of Sons of the Revolution in the state of Maryland between 1890 and 2007. The collection has been divided into 4 series:
Series I: Applications for Membership, 1892-present
Series II: Annual reports and Meeting Minutes, 1892-2007
Series III: Secretary’s Papers, 1903-1923
Series IV: Miscellaneous Papers, Publications, Roster Cards, 1973-2004
The first series, Applications for Membership, have simply been arranged alphabetically by applicant's last name. Corresponding roster cards in a wooden box can be found in Series IV.
The second series, Annual reports, consists of a chronological arrangement of all material relating to meetings from 1892-present.
The Secretary’s papers from 1903-1923 contain a mixture of miscellaneous files and correspondence pertaining to the work of the Society. Rather then separate out by type of document, the original chronological order was preserved.
The last series contains publications and miscellaneous reports collected and compiled by the Society, and the aforementioned roster cards.
