Ethnic Heritage Project papers

Abstract

The Ethnic Heritage Project papers are a collection of fifteen family history research papers written for the Ethnic Heritage Project and a course given at Towson State University entitled "Social History of the U.S." Most of the papers describe the history of the student's great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, and own generations, with some brief mentions of earlier ancestors. Some of the projects also contain photographs of family memberrs.

This is an artificial collection consisting of photocopies of original material owned by the Historical Society of Frederick County. This collection contains correspondence to and from members of the Hicks family, 1833-1883. The primary correspondents include Captain Ratcliffe Hicks, his sons Charles R. Hicks and Alfred Hicks, his daughter Elizabeth Hicks Harding, and her husband, William Harding. The letters contain news on family and business affairs, chiefly news of sea trade.
