This collection consists of letters Christine Brown Penniman sent home to her parents while she was volunteering with the Red Cross in France during the final days of World War I. Two letters are also included to Christine from her father, Stuart Brown. Contents of the letters include description of travels and daily life, as well as various social engagements and notable meetings. Of particular note is Brown’s account of the peace signing in Paris, which marked an end to the hostilities.
