Other subjects are outdoor views at sites in Maryland counties, Pennsylvania, and elsewhere, some made by William B. Marye and including informal portraits of Edward G. Warns.

Biographical / Historical

William B. Marye (1886-1979), born near Kingsville in Baltimore County, Maryland., was the only son of William Nelson Marye and Elizabeth Mary Bose (Gittings) Marye. He graduated from Johns Hopkins University in 1907 and served in the Maryland Naval Militia during World War I. As an adult based in Baltimore City, Marye was an antiquary, genealogist, historian, writer, and amateur archaeologist, and a recognized authority on Maryland history, especially Native American history and topography.
