This collection contains papers concerning the division of the estate of Samuel Smith (d. 1831) and instilling Michael Keyser with guardianship of William Smith and powers as agent of Ann Smith. The bulk of the collection consists of receipts, notes, orders, and bills issued by Ann Smith or Michael Keyser.
The Shoemaker-Eccleston Collection consists of correspondence, notes, and receipts mainly relating to the wealthy benefactress Augusta Chambers Eccleston Shoemaker (1833-1907) and her father, John Bowers Eccleston (1794-1860), Maryland Court of Appeals Judge from 1851 to 1860.
This collection consists of bank books and check books, monthly time books, Burnside ledgers, expense ledgers, journals, account ledgers, cash books, church attendance records, breeder's herd records, and similar items.
